New character...

I decided that the opening chapters of Little Birdies! were reading a bit too flat - too much of a straight scientific narrative. So I went back to the beginning and added another character, sort of an impact character to add some tension and conflict to the story. I'm up to 15,000 words now, but only pushed the book forward one chapter, so almost all of the additional writing was to weave the new character and new storyline through the existing tale. It was well worth the trouble; it's much more interesting and, truthfully, necessary.
