This is a seven minute video of the Queens Zoo in Flushing, NY. At about 5:15 into the film, they take a pretty good look at their aviary, which is a good sized geodesic dome. I can't tell from the film how large the dome is, and I've haven't been to the zoo recently (despite the fact that I grew up about four miles from there). In Little Birdies!, Dan Grant builds a 100-foot diameter geodesic dome to house their, well, big birds. The Queens aviary appears to be naturally planted, with full-sized trees, a layered canopy, intermediate shrubs and a lot of ground cover and water features, as was Dan Grant's.
