Hot time in the old town tonight...

The Gouldian finch flight cage is rapidly turning into a hotbed of mating ritual. Both males are competing for the ladies attention by collecting strands of twine, dead leaves from the jade plant, pieces of straw, scraps of fresh lettuce and other such irresistible tidbits and lining one of the nest boxes with them. The ladies will be in to inspect the digs shortly. I don't know how they managed to resist these guys for so long...
