Parrots as messengers from God...

The Military Macaw is considered a messenger from God by indigenous Mexicans in Oaxaca State. Conservation efforts are ongoing, as are attempts to encourage the growth of a local ecotourism industry. As some of you know, the idea of ecotourism was championed in both The Third Revolution and Middle America, though, despite my obvious parrot fetish, with bison, wolves, elk, prairie dogs and other natural inhabitants of the American Serengeti.
