I'm 8,000 words into Little Birdies!; I completed Chapter 3 today and am pushing ahead into Chapter 4. Looks pretty good as far as it goes...the scientific predicate for the story is all front-loaded, so this is, technically at least, the most difficult part of the story to write.
In other business, I've been busy filing my rejection letters from agents (for Middle America). It seems the most common phrase I'm sent is "...it just doesn't seem right for me." That's publishing lingo for "it's not a Tom Clancy/John Grisham/Patricia Cornwall/Michael Crichton/Stephen King/Dan Brown knockoff, so I don't think I can sell it." I know there's one brave soul out there...all I need is one...
