Monk Parrots move into Manhattan...

I wonder if their colony nest is rent controlled?

If you're interested in reading about a parrot invasion of a different sort, be sure to check out Little Birdies!  In that book I did reference the existence of local Quaker (Monk) parrot colonies, though at the time I was writing it, the only nearby flocks I was aware of were living in Connecticut. They've since been spreading fast, with sizable flocks now thriving in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, as well as in Manhattan. Excerpts, author readings, and reviews from the book may be found here.
